Learn gadget etiquettes

Technology may have made a huge difference to our lives but not everything it has touched has turned into gold. One of the things tech-haters love to moan about is about how the advent of better technology, especially in the field of communications, has led to an erosion of basic manners and etiquette.

From mobile phones to smart phones and cabled technology to wireless technology, desktops to laptops, the world of science and technology has undergone extreme revolution. And now since the gadgets got smaller to provide convenience of space and easy handling, the basic manners of the users remained the same.

Obviously, the tech tribe considers these complaints to be the fevered moanings of an older generation whose time has passed and which does not want to come to terms with the ‘new techno age’ and its culture. As always, the truth is somewhere between these two extremes.

Yes, technology has allowed us to keep in touch with each other far more easily and efficiently, but there are times when its users seem to forget themselves (and indeed, all those around them) and end up indulging in behavior that can only be called regrettable and which causes offense to all those around them.

Here’s a look at just seven of the deadly sins that gadget lovers are prone to committing:

Following points are the quick-step guide.

* You are in the middle of a meeting either listening to the important discussion or you yourself are speaking. Suddenly, your phone starts ringing and you attend to the call. Now, this has absorbed your most valuable time as well, also you lose focus and concentration over the subject being talked about. Your colleagues dislike the very idea of attending the phone as they are completely engrossed in the topic of discussion. Either switch off for a while or put in a silent/vibration mode.

* You have gone to watch a movie or a show with your spouse. Your phone rings at a very loud and sharp tone. Viewers who have come for the entertainment suddenly get distracted. Put your cell phone in a silent/vibration mode.

* You are working in a office and sitting with a laptop. You leave your work and start chatting with a friend. Don’t do this during the precious hours of work.

* You display too much of your technical stuff and always sit with a laptop, even if an important person has come. Don’t do this as this may spoil your reputation instead of restoring/making it.

* You are a music lover and like to listen to a loud music. You hook on to MP3 player/smart phone and listen with loudspeakers on. This is indeed not a good habit, especially when you are in the office. You can however listen with your head phones on.

* You keep sending dirty/funny messages with your Bluetooth set. Keep a check on the other persons’s behavior. He may get irritated.

* You have the most funkiest camera and always start clicking pictures whenever you see beautiful and nice people.Make sure, you are not caught at this act of yours.
